A Look Back at 2025 — and 50 Episodes of theDownsizing Roadmap Podcast

As 2025 comes to a close, we wanted to pause and reflect — not with fanfare, but with gratitude.

This week, we’re releasing the 50th episode of the Downsizing Roadmap Podcast. More than a milestone, it represents the real conversations, families, and moments of transition we’ve been honored to be part of.

Downsizing Roadmap was never about “stuff.”
It started because both of us have lived this personally. In fact, we’ve walked through downsizing with our own families. We’ve sorted, questioned, grieved, and eventually found relief. Through that experience, we learned how emotional downsizing can be — especially when belongings represent decades of life and memories. We also understand how lonely it can feel when you don’t know where to start or who to trust.

That lived experience is why we do this work.

We don’t believe downsizing should feel rushed, forced, or transactional. We believe it should
feel thoughtful, informed, and grounded — whether you’re a senior making a move, an adult
child helping a parent, or a family trying to make sense of next steps together. Supporting
people through these later-life transitions is at the core of everything we do.

Why We Added the Podcast in 2025

Adding the podcast this year felt like a natural extension of that mission.

We wanted a space where we could talk honestly about downsizing — the logistics and the
emotions — without pressure. A place where people could learn at their own pace. Something
calm, practical, and approachable. Not advice shouted from a headline, but instead conversations you could listen to while driving, decluttering, or even simply thinking through what comes next.

What surprised us most this year were the messages we received.

Listeners shared that the podcast helped them stay focused while sorting and packing. That it
gave them language for conversations they were struggling to have. That it helped them feel
less overwhelmed — and less alone — in the middle of big decisions. One listener told us it felt
grounding to have a steady, reassuring voice alongside them during an emotional move.
Hearing feedback like that has been incredibly meaningful to us.

We’re also grateful for the referral partners and professionals who’ve shared that the podcast reflects the care they want for their clients. That trust matters.

Looking Ahead to 2026

As we head into a new year, our goal isn’t bigger or louder.
It’s steadier.

We plan to keep creating resources that are useful, realistic, and rooted in empathy. To keep sharing conversations that help people think clearly and move forward with confidence — even when the process feels heavy.

If downsizing is something you’re considering in 2026 — whether it’s immediate or simply on the horizon — we want you to know you don’t have to navigate it alone. Sometimes the most helpful first step isn’t sorting a box or making a decision. It’s having a conversation.

Thank you for being part of this year with us — for listening, sharing, reaching out, and trusting us with a very personal chapter of life. We don’t take that lightly.

Here’s to continuing the work, one thoughtful step at a time.
